The first story is about patriotic shopping vs. unpatriotic shopping. In the second story, Cornelia gets herself a quickie diploma and goes to work. The last vignette is Cornelia's audition for the "Virginia Monologues" (wait, did she read that right?). Cornelia is a great character – she's innocent and impish all at once. The art and stories are fun and light-hearted. They look and feel like a Max Fleischer cartoon.
