The Banana/Skin Joke is no exception. The story, for lack of a better term, is somewhat disjointed but also surprisingly linear. There are people slipping on banana peels, there are lighthouses, there's swimming and then there's another banana peel. See? No point in trying to explain it. I can honestly say, however, that I found it satisfying. I suppose it doesn't make a lick of sense (except, perhaps, abstractly), but all of the elements are tied together in a way that appeals.
