Sadder than You is mostly based on crazy stuff he and his pals did back in his partying days. The somewhat minimalist artwork is created on a computer and employs mostly geometric shapes. Although the approach may sound really boring, John manages to make it work pretty well and the art contributes to the humor more than you might expect. The funniest story in these two issues is a bout being unexpectedly airsick, but there's also a magic trick, an old joke, sexual allusion, masturbation fun and general college dumbassery. John's also got lots of other stuff available at his site such as his
